Router Socks5 — assign a proxy to every device over Wi-Fi + LAN
A router proxy — or router socks5 — is a device that routes (assigns) all your network traffic through a SOCKS5/HTTP/5G proxy, then broadcasts that proxied connection over Wi-Fi + LAN to every device. Instead of installing proxy software on each machine, you assign the proxy once at the router: phones, PCs and virtual machines that connect automatically use the proxy's clean IP, with MAC faking and DNS/time zone synced to the IP.
How a proxy-assigning router works
You enter the proxy details (IP, port, user/pass) into a RouterSocks5 device. The router builds a tunnel to the proxy and turns it into the network gateway for both Wi-Fi and LAN. Every packet to the Internet goes through the proxy — no out-of-band leaks.
Router proxy vs proxy software
Proxy software only covers one app, easily leaks WebRTC/DNS/time zone and must be reconfigured per machine. A router proxy covers every connected device, supports WebRTC over the proxy, routes DNS via the proxy's ISP, fakes the MAC and blocks LAN scans/tracert — tighter and far more convenient.
Protocols & network sources
RouterSocks5 can assign SOCKS5, HTTP/HTTPS, WireGuard and OpenVPN proxies; takes its uplink from home LAN, a 4G USB dongle or an Android/iOS phone for mobility; and auto-selects the 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi band per device.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a Router Socks5?
- A router that routes all devices through a SOCKS5 proxy (and 5G/HTTP/VPN) then broadcasts Wi-Fi + LAN, with MAC faking and DNS/time zone synced to the proxy IP.
- Is assigning a proxy to the router hard?
- No. You paste the proxy details into the router interface and you're done; every connected device uses it instantly, with no per-machine setup.
- How many proxies can one router assign?
- You can switch proxies anytime; each router broadcasts one clean IP at a time for the devices sharing it — ideal for isolating by device group.
- Does a router proxy need its own proxy?
- Yes. The router is the device that assigns a proxy; you need a proxy (buy/rent a clean 5G proxy from RouterSocks5) to load into it.
